The Piscitelli Romano 25cm Light is a traditional Italian knife: the pointed blade and the click spring opening mean the knife can never close accidentally.
The handle is entirely hand-carved to create a non-slip surface; it is made from a single horn tip, with several days of work for each piece.
The opening has 3 clicks, with two screws holding the spring along the length of the handle; the ring above the three clicks releases the blade so you can close it.

The Romano is a model from Rome. Unlike many other Italian knives born for farm work, this knife was born for self-defence and attack: the clicks that lock the blade let you grip it safely without the risk of it closing in your hand. It dates back to around 1600 and was used both by brigands and by Roman nobles.
The horn version is very precious and involves a great deal of work by expert craftsmen who have handed down the construction methods for generations.
Piscitelli is an Italian artisan in Frosolone (IS) who makes top-quality knives, refined both in their blades and in the fine workmanship of their handles.
